Johor Bahru, 06 May 2021 – In the spirit of Ramadan, Paragon Globe Berhad (“Paragon Globe”) and Paragon Market Place (“PMP”) organized a “Ramadan Prihatin” programme by visiting two selected orphanages in Johor Bahru, to bring festive cheers and aids to them on 06 May 2021.
During the visit, the management and associates of Paragon Globe and PMP distributed essential items to Asrama Kebajikan Ar-Rayyan and Pusat Jagaan Kasih Setanggi, benefiting 120 children and teenagers in need.
Each orphanage received various essential items including rice, cooking oil, rice vermicelli, flour, coffee powder, chocolate malt drink, sweetened creamer, sugar, cordial, toothpaste, body shampoo, bleach, washing powder, fabric softener, dishwashing liquid and toilet cleaners.
The children and teenagers aged between 4 to 17 from both orphanages were also given “Duit Raya” and goodies bag.
Commenting on the “Ramadan Prihatin” programme, Dato’ Sri Godwin Tan Pei Poh, Group Executive Director of Paragon Globe and Executive Director of Joland Group, said, “This is the first-time collaboration of Paragon Globe and PMP to organize such a Ramadan Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) programme. We are delighted to bring some cheer and warmth to the children with our “Ramadan Prihatin” programme today.”
“Apart from our commitment to contribute back to society, we would also like to extend our helping hand to the underprivileged children and teenagers for a better and joyful Ramadan. We hope that this small gesture would ease part of the orphanages financial burden during the novel coronavirus disease (“COVID-19”) pandemic,” he added.
In line with Conditional Movement Control Order, the standard operating procedures were strictly adhered to during the visit of these two orphanages, such as taking body temperature before registering, applied hand sanitiser, maintained social distancing and speed up the hand over process, to ensure the safety of the children and teenagers.
